Inspiration
Our team was inspired by the obsession people have with music data, especially during the end of the year when Apple Music Replay and Spotify Wrapped are released. It’s no surprise that people love comparing their music taste, stats, and top songs with others. But this unique form of connection and expression shouldn’t be limited to just one time of year.
We also drew inspiration from platforms like Letterboxd and Strava, where people engage, share, and bond over their passions and opinions.
That’s why we built Sound Sync—a way to connect and express ourselves through our music taste year-round, not just during Spotify Wrapped or Apple Music Replay season.
What it does
Sound Sync harnesses the power of AI through the Groq API, analyzing users' Spotify profiles and listening histories to generate engaging, insightful, and sometimes unexpected assumptions about them and their friends. The Music Roulette feature turns music discovery into a game, challenging users to guess who listened to what song, often leading to surprising revelations. Users can follow friends, explore their music taste, and dive into their top artists, recent plays, and hidden guilty pleasures. With real-time music stats, there’s no more waiting for Spotify Wrapped—top songs, artists, and trends are available 24/7/365, ensuring users always have an up-to-date view of their listening habits. Sound Sync makes music discovery social, interactive, and never-ending.
