The problem

As business landscapes undergoes drastic changes due to the ongoing pandemic, some social enterprises requires mentorship and support to help them navigate through these uncertain times.

However, without a large network and with many consultants specialising in different fields of expertise, social enterprises may find it hard to get the right mentor.

Current solution

raiSE Singapore has a Fellowship programme that matches social enterprises to suitable mentors or fellows. Social enterprises can simply register their interest via the google form provided and get matched.

Issues with Current solution

The google form does not allow mentors and consultants to view the social enterprises in a visually appealing way.
They cannot choose how to filter social enterprises based on their preferences or expertise easily. There is much overhead for raiSE staff to manually tabulate the data and share with the mentors and consultants.
Hard to scale when there are many social enterprises and many consultants

Our solution

In SocialiSE, our aim is to bridge the gap between social enterprises and consultancy firms to give them the support they need. This is done through a web app that allows social enterprises to post their problems and have mentors choose which problem they want to help.

What it does

Firstly, it authenticates both consultants and social enterprises on the page with its respective login pages.

Social enterprises can then edit their company information on the settings page, and through the submissions form, submit their challenges for their viewing of consultants.

Consultants, once verifed by raiSE, can proceed to view social enterprises and their respective challenges. Challenges are sorted by consultants preference and they can contact social enterprises through the email link provided.

We used HTML/CSS, Javascript, Firebase

What we learned

This being the first time some of us has used firebase and javascript, it was an eye opening experience and we have learnt many things about integrating with the Google Firebase API
