💡 Inspiration

We were tired of the world judging us for our… natural instincts. So we asked ourselves: “What if we could create the world’s most disgusting game… that you’d actually want to share with your friends?”

Inspired by early 2000s gross-out humor, "As Seen On TV" toy commercials, and our inner 8-year-old, we decided to bring boogers back in a big, flickable way.

🎮 What it does

Snot So Fast is an interactive Snapchat Lens game where players have 15 seconds to tap, squish, and flick as many boogers as possible before time runs out. Every tap = 1 booger. The faster you flick, the higher your score.

It’s weird. It’s gross. It’s oddly satisfying. And best of all: no actual noses were harmed.

🛠️ How we built it

Built in Snap Lens Studio using a clean, turn-based game template

Custom TypeScript scripts for:

Timer and booger spawning logic

Score tracking and game flow

Tap detection and splat animations

UI includes:

Countdown system ("3… 2… 1… EWWW!")

Game timer, live score counter, game over panel

Tappable booger prefabs with animated slime FX

Voiceover-style storytelling with early 2000s toy commercial vibes

🧱 Challenges we ran into

Making boogers look funny and not too realistic (nobody wants that)

Managing random spawn logic without overloading the screen

Timing the tap window and booger life so it felt frantic but fair

Getting Bitmojis to act appropriately gross (Snap... give us more gooey animations pls)

🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of

Built the full game loop, animation system, and UI in a single creative sprint

Made people genuinely laugh when testing it (“I want to throw up in a good way” = real quote)

Created a game that kids, weird adults, and nose-pickers everywhere will actually enjoy

The booger flick SFX? Chef’s kiss 💚

🧠 What we learned

Humor is a superpower in AR — people love playful, ridiculous lenses

Gross can be good (if done with charm and clear UI)

Rapid iteration and voice/tone consistency made the project 10x better

Having sound and animation polish makes the whole thing feel real
