Inspiration

We wanted to create a finance tracking app that will help our users understand their finances better.

What it does

We made things unique by allowing the user to compare their spending habits with those of other users. It ranks your spending amount for different categories (like shopping, food, etc.) against the spending of all the other users. The app will allow you to track your finances and spending and set goals for a certain time periods.

How we built it

We built the frontend using flutterflow and used flask to make it communicate with the python backend. The backend works using pandas and numpy.

Challenges we ran into

This was our first ever hackathon, so figuring out how to utilize each technology took some work. We faced problems setting up the project, installing Python libraries, understanding GitHub commits, and squashing frequent bugs in our code.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are really proud of how we tracked the user's spending and providing the user with a numeric description of their spending habits. We hope that users find these resources useful as much as we do.

What we learned

We learned a ton about using different technologies and programs to make our dream a reality. Another important thing we learned was how to collaborate in a team setting.

What's next for SmartWallet

This submission is a very rough idea of our vision. In the future we are considering to implement more detailed information about a user's finance, create quizzes for the user to learn more about their finances, and expand our horizons by providing this service to different banks.
