SmartStockPay was born out of the desire to rethink how we use investments in daily life. I was inspired by the idea that financial assets shouldn’t just sit idle — they should be part of our everyday spending power. With the rise of fintech and intelligent automation, I wanted to explore a future where stocks become as liquid and usable as digital cash.

The project allows users to pay for goods and services using their stock portfolio. They can either choose which stocks to use or let AI automatically select the most beneficial combination based on real-time values. SmartStockPay converts selected shares instantly into dollar value, creating a seamless and innovative payment experience.

Throughout the process, I learned how to work with real-time data, design intuitive interfaces using Streamlit, and build a structured workflow on GitHub. One of the biggest challenges was building realistic logic that mimics stock-based payments, including calculating partial payments, tracking transaction history, and dynamically updating portfolios.

Despite time constraints and technical limitations, the project evolved into a working MVP that could easily be scaled or integrated with live data providers in the future. It was an exciting challenge that combined creativity, logic, and real-world fintech innovation.
