Medication non-compliance is a huge burden on our healthcare system. When a patient fails to take their medication as prescribed, it poses a threat to their safety.
Our solution is SmartPax - a smart and connected dosette pack that can objectively measure compliance and increase patient safety.
Sensors within each lid can identify when cells have been opened and patients have taken their pills. This provides objective compliance data which is relayed to the doctor and pharmacist.
The patients interface with an app which:
1) Pushes a notification whenever it is time to open a cell and take their medication.
2) Provides education regarding their medications such as information on how to take their medication and effects of their non-compliance.
3) Incorporates an easy traffic light system for monitoring their compliance.
We are currently in the middle of producing a prototype for the product. It's a fantastic solution that we believe there is a market for.
