Inspiration
To ensure a healthy and hygienic environment for all, we aimed to reduce the amount of contact with surfaces other than the patient's wounds or affected areas. As a result, we endeavored to develop a system with features specifically tuned to surgical procedures.
What it does
We have developed an application, where the user(doctor) to gather and request tasks such as medicines, tasks, and assistance, during surgery. Also the doctors can see the previous medical reports of the patient, along with the previously prescribed medications and medical reports. All these can be done without touching the screen using gesture module added in our system.
How we built it
We made a gesture recognition system based on OpenCV and MediaPipe library. Also, We have used ReactJs to develop our application, MySQL for handling DataBase, Backend APIs using NodeJs.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating the Voice based search module and calling module in our system.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successfully developed a cutting-edge system that prioritizes safety and hygiene. Also, created a user-friendly system with User-centered features.
What we learned
We learned how to use existing tech in image recognition to make gesture based application. Using different technologies and integrating them together was exhausting and rewarding when we finally did it!
What's next for Smart Surgery
improving the interface and performance of our gesture recognition system.
