Inspiration
As first years, we struggled last quarter in keeping track of our slug points but also wanted to enjoy the various markets and cafes on campus. However, without having access to the prices and menus, it was quite hard to save up slug points. This inspired us to create Slug Markets, creating an app for every individual who wants to keep track of their spending spree.
What it does
Slug Markets takes in your current slug points and calculates how much points you would have left after purchase.
How we built it
Using swift, Xcode, and an attempt at firebase which then led to creating manual dictionaries, we were able to complement all the parts and make an iOS app.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into included difficulties with configuring and fetching data from Firebase, as well as understanding how to program in Swift and running Xcode simulators on Macs and Windows devices alike.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of not giving up and completing our project to our fullest ability. With perseverance, grit, and determination, we learned a multitude of technical and soft skills that helped us grow personally and professionally.

Next is to expand our database and add employer authentication features.
