Inspiration

We have lots of empathy for our teachers from watching them spend copious amounts of time making slideshows.

What it does

Our website allows teachers to take textbook material and quickly generate full, editable Google Slides with the assistance of AI. Teachers are given Google Slides links to use in their classrooms.

How we built it

Using Google Slides API and GPT-4 on the backend and Javascript on the frontend.

Challenges we ran into

Figuring out how to connect the AI to Google Slides API! We also struggled with the usage of AI in generating slides (since it directly would generate images that cannot be edited by teachers) so we switched to the AI only condensing information and instead utilizing the Google Slides API with templates to get the information into proper slides. Sometimes AI needs humans to get the job done well!
