Inspiration

Skillerator is inspired by a real story. Our developer ran into a lot of difficulties while moving to Germany from Mexico for a Job. We inquired and found that he is not the only one to struggle. Employers on the other side face difficulties lacking expertise or resources to navigate administrative hurdles.

What it does

Transparency: Skillerator will keep employer and employee up to date regarding the migration process and informs both sides regarding important steps to take.
Inclusivity: The software provides native language forms that are translated to german, automatically filling out offical forms for offices such as the local Foreigners Office.
Compliance: Employer/Employee can rely on legally compliant and up to date information.

How we are building it

1. **The first prototype was built in Vue.js, Node and Docker

With a clearer picture in mind of what we wanted the product to be, the prototype consisted of a Progressive Web Application, powered by Rust, WebAssembly, Postgresql and Docker to allow us to have a highly performant reliable App (still giving us the flexibility to keep using tools like npm, Webpack, etc.)
3. Fast forward to the present, our current tech stack has evolved to adapt to the growing needs we envision for the platform. Currently the main entry point is a Blazor/C# PWA, the continuous delivery process is now supported by Github actions. For generating high quality pdf documents, we are including Overleaf/LaTeX.
4. Currently we are exploring Kogito as a low code/no code solution, with integration to open source projects like apache kafka and Infinispan.

Challenges

Major challenge right now is to procure all the different local forms and information given that all regions have their own requirements, incentives and so on.

We are very proud of our Team to stick together during Corona times even though we are spread all over Germany.

What's next for Skillerator

Given some support from this awesome community, Skillerator will roll out a first Version of the software, test and optimize it to go to market.
