Personal experiences with our grandparents struggling to use their phones

What it does

SimpleOS is an operating system designed to help seniors use a smartphone like everybody else. Modern smartphones are complex, and hard to use for someone not familiar with using them. SimpleOS is made to be easy to use, and have a lot of features that would be beneficial for our older, but very important population The website explains features and our rationale, and includes a demo with many of our features.

How we built it

The website and demo were built through HTML, CSS and JS

Challenges we ran into

Dealing with JS was difficult being rather new to the language. There were a lot of issues regarding that, many problem were found, like implementing the applications into the main home app, which we could not do in time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We put together a lot of the features fairly well and created an appealing website.

What we learned

We learned skills regarding project management, coding and also advertising. We learned about the issues that seniors face in using technology and the ways in which current technology neglects their particular needs. We learned skills regarding app and web development.
