My inspiration for Side Note comes from my lifelong passion for helping creators share their stories, dating back to building one of the first 3D Flash websites and connecting with people directly on the streets of New York. Over years at Microsoft, Amazon, Samsung, and Akamai, I’ve seen the power of tools that make creative work easier and more shareable.

With Side Note, I wanted to build a simple, user friendly Notion-style editor inside Adobe Express that lets users capture ideas, tasks, and document their creative process in real time. I built this MVP using local browser storage, no accounts, and no friction, so it works instantly. I learned how critical seamless UX and offline-first design are for creative tools.

Challenges included designing a lightweight experience without a backend and ensuring smooth content export. But the most exciting part is transforming raw notes into polished articles with a single click, helping creators share their process and promote Adobe Express.

I’m eager to keep building and documenting this journey to help other developers create their own Adobe Express add-ons.
