Inspiration
While coming up with issues to solve the one issue we could all agree on was whenever we wanted to go out to eat. We all shared the feeling of not knowing what to eat so this was the perfect opportunity for us to solve that issue!
What it does
It chooses a random restaurant based on location, price range, and food type (which can also be random).
How we built it
We built it using Visual Studio Code, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and React-Native.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into a lot of issues when it came to using the Yelp API. It was a big hurdle; however, once we solved all of those issues the rest of the project went smoothly!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We made both an app and a website before the deadline. We could have stuck with only one, but we thought "why not just do them both!"
What we learned
We learned a lot about app development and web development. It was a lot of fun and there are many things that we learned making ShuffleBite that we will definitely apply to future projects!
What's next for ShuffleBite
We plan on making improvements to both the app and the website and possibly venturing into other ideas that we previously had!
