Shop Slow

Inspiration

There are many sustainable brands around the world, but a lot of people don't know about them. I wanted to link people with brands that fit them.

What it does

My project matches people with brands that fit their preferences and attributes. For example, if you like patterns or colors or recycled materials, Shop Slow will find brands that fit that description.

How we built it

I used a database of 35 brands and then used a ranking algorithm based on the number of common attributes between the user and the brand. It then returns the 5 most compatible brands.

Challenges we ran into

I ran into a lot of challenges with the actual matching algorithm and producing correct results, as well as user input. 

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of my extensive database and the matching algorithm that works well.

What we learned

I learned how to optimize time and work with large amounts of data. There was so much data about each brand and working with that was hard, but now I know how to.

What's next for Shop Slow

Next would be using more brands and adding brands to the database, as well as partnering with brands.
