Inspiration

Our inspiration was reading stories online about women who are stuck in refugee camps right now or in war zones with no way of sending their kids and their family, or even themselves to high education. With this they can teach themselves skills that will serve them and their families for a lifetime

What it does

This website plays the role of the middleman. It gathers materials and knowledge to a single source where women can freely download these materials whenever they have an Internet connection, and use these materials anytime they want to teach themselves skills, whether it is sewing or even basic literacy

How we built it

So we used REACT and JSX to build the front-end, and were using Python for the backend

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges that we ran into was the time crunch. For example, we both worked on the front-end, which sadly didn't leave use much time for the back end.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This was our first hackathon, and we were very prod that we were able to submit a project.

What we learned

From this hackathon, we learned that we must be able to manage our time properly, and we have to expand our knowledge base so we can accomplish more in a smaller amount of time.

What's next for SkillBridge

We hope to publish this and build the backend so that women can actual use this for their advantage to help them start their own businesses, and encouraging people in places where education for women is not so forthcoming that there is an alternative route.
