Inspiration

Gender disparity in computing has now become a global concern. It’s lucky that today there are multiple organizations that are making it a priority to get women into STEM fields by hosting scholarships, tech conferences, internships, and fellowship programs to increase female engagement.

However, one of the biggest problems that we have seen women tech face is having a lack of mentorship and insufficient knowledge about these amazing opportunities which await them.

We wanted to find a way out to encourage women to not just know about these programs but also make the most of them. This inspired us to create a community to empower women all around the globe by raising awareness and hopefully contract gender disparity in the tech industry.

What it does

We send a NEWSLETTER to our subscribers as soon as an opportunity/scholarship is rolled out. The newsletter contains important information about the event like registration deadline, program commencement, related resources: blogs, YouTube videos, etc. Subscribe

We built it using HTML, CSS and JavaScript in 4 weeks.

Challenges we ran into

With just bookish knowledge about the various tech stacks, we didn't know how much effort went into designing, building and publishing an actual website. Every small detail needs to catered when actually build a website.

  • We designed a website for the first time.
  • Learnt about illustrations, color schemes, unique website designs.
  • Wrote every piece of code for the hundred component for our website on our own.
  • Learned about different domain and web hosting services.
  • Managed a free domain and free hosting for our site.
  • Learnt video editing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

All this effort felt worth it, when we saw the actual product, i.e. the website. And it would give us more happiness when it will be of use to millions of girls across India.
