Sharky Bot

add that we used Twilio's verify and messaging service to build functionalities of the bot
and cohere's general endpoint with large model to build the chat feature using NLP

Inspiration

what?? you are under attack by a shark and you don't know which type of shark is it? well, don't worry sharky bot is here to help you.

What it does

Sharky bot is capable of doing multiple things such as:

It uses Twilio Messaging and Verify services to notify helpline when they write help and
uses **Cohere's Generate endpoint with a Large Language Model that use NLP. Large pretrained Transformer language models, or simply large language models, vastly extend the capabilities of what bots are able to do with text.
Send quotes with quote to motivate the user.

How we built it

We built this using the discord.js library to implement our discord bot sharky and be able to accept messages from the user and according to these messages we will respond with the specific response we also used Twilio when the user needs help in a shark attack situation and also used cohere NLP to get information about the sharks from the internet just when the user asks a question about sharks we also used quotes API to get some beautiful quotes when you need them.

Challenges we ran into

It was difficult to work with cohere NLP API as we have never used it before. So, we have to do a lot of research and after some research or watching tutorials we implement it in our application.
Of course we also have to face a lot of errors using Discord.js as well and Integrating the bot to Twilio and Cohere .
