Inspiration : 40 % of on road accidents are due to of driver drowsiness.
What it does : Detect driver drowsiness and help wake them up
How we built it : Raspberry pi and it's camera module is used to create the main setup . 3 d printed parts and a servo is used to create the spray module . opencv code is used to for facial recognition and detection of drowsiness.Twolio api is used to make calls to the user's phone
Challenges we ran into: Making the device portable and compactable to every car. Identifying when the user becomes drowsy .Making the as small as possible and making sure that user becomes wide awake
Accomplishments that we're proud of: Created the CAD models and code in a short time and create a plausible solution to the problem.
What we learned : We learnt a lot about the code for facial recognition ,the way objects like air freshener are attached onto a ac vent , Cad modeling and rendering. Raspberry programming
What's next for Shark Up: Create a prototype by making changes to improve the product and save live .
