ShareQ, is a digital application that makes it easy to find, share and volunteer at nonprofits activities, based on users' location and categories of interest.

Inspiration

So as a part of the community, we always seek to help and take part in benevolent activities, especially during this month, and the most sufficient way to do so is to search on social media or even locally which leads us to face a lot of disabilities and problems such as:

  1. Inconvenient access to the community, by that, we mean that we are not totally aware of what's happening locally, and who's leading the charge.
  2. The difficult process to match with causes in your interests: even if we found opportunities to help we face a bigger problem which is matching with our own interests because we cannot all agree on one single interest.
  3. The tiring search to find opportunities to help: it's not efficient to find opportunities to give support and help especially in volunteering.

What is ShareQ

Here comes our solution: ShareQ, which is a digital application that makes it easy to find, share and volunteer at nonprofits activities, that help elevate communities, inspire people, and improve the world.

So the main functionality of our app as you can see, is to connect volunteers with local nonprofits organizations that need support, and that is ensured by these features:

Match: discover nonprofits organizations based on the causes you care about Engage: volunteer for your favorite organizations Share: spread the word on social media to magnify the impact

Challenges we ran into

The major challenge we faced was that no one of us has experience working with flutter before so we had to learn and make a full working project within three days, and another challenge was that we were a team of three, and one of us wasn't available so we basically were two people working and we had to split the entire work between us so one of us took care of the UX Design and presentation and the other one the developement.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are really proud that we could come this far in the realization of the app and bring this innovative idea to life, and that within three days we managed to learn flutter made an app, also wee feel so proud that wee could think of such an idea that will have a big impact on the society.

So the perspectives: our solution is still not 100% complete and we aim to add some features and extensions in the future like:

  1. Website where the organizations can submit their activities, and also have a dashboard that reflects their activities' stats
  2. Start locally and then grow to cover different parts of the world
  3. Notification system to inform the users about new volunteer activities published that match their interests, and keep them interacting with the app.
