Inspiration

We saw a podcast where they brought in 2 people from similar backgrounds, one of which said they can't accomplish x goal, and the other who has accomplished that. The accomplished one shames the other into accomplishing their goals, e.g., 2 mothers, one of which says she can't make time to work out because of work / family, but the other mother does, and so they reach a conclusion they can both do it.

What it does

Calls you as influential people shaming you into accomplishing your specific goal at a specified time.

How we built it

Twilio for messaging / calls, GPT for character description, yt-dlp for downloading podcast audio data, 11labs for cloning voices / generating voiceovers, vercel for serveless deployment, AWS for cron jobs.

Challenges we ran into

Timezones are difficult to deal with on server v. local. Also, it's difficult to get the time from a non-formatted user message, e.g., remind in in ~ two ish hours to go to the gym.
