Inspiration

The Challenge: In many developing countries, global internet coverage is only at 60%, while mobile phone penetration reaches a staggering 91%. However, accessing digital funds often incurs fees and complexities, hindering the transition to a digital economy. Sendtips addresses these challenges head-on.

Our Vision: Just as physical cash accessibility is universal, we believe that digital financial access should be equally easy and affordable. With the transformative power of blockchain technology, Sendtips aims to revolutionize financial inclusivity.

What it does

Sendtips enables indirect blockchain access for individuals facing challenges with direct internet connectivity. Our approach focuses on accessibility, catering to both temporary and permanent challenges. By harnessing a synergy of innovative technologies and an agency banking model, we're creating an inclusive solution that works for everyone.

How we built it

Sendtips was built by integrating blockchain technology with an innovative agency banking model. To create our initial solution we have combined: XRP Ledger, Machine Learning using Dialogflow for Interactive AI, and written our application codes in Typescript using the following frameworks: ReactJs for Frontend, NestJs for Backend.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge was designing a user-friendly interface for users with low-end devices. Integrating blockchain while ensuring security and compliance posed another challenge. We also had to create a seamless experience for both urban and remote users. However we are yet to solve the problem of enabling self-custody of accounts for our proposed model, but we are closely watching ZKP solutions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of creating an inclusive solution that addresses the digital divide. Developing a reliable agency banking system and successfully linking phone numbers to blockchain addresses were significant achievements. Our solution simplifies cross-border transactions that is accessible for everyone.

What we learned

We learned the importance of user-centric design for diverse user groups. We also learnt that integrating blockchain into real-world scenarios requires careful planning. We have also been versed better with the concept of validator nodes and the components/layers of the blockchain technology through this hackathon.

What's next for Sendtips

Identifying key partners such as Mobile service, Investors, Validator nodes. Doing a market research to map possible countries or routes for a pilot test.
