Selli is an AI-powered tool for MetaQuest that makes it easy to sell and purchase local second-hand goods.
Inspiration
We all sometimes find ourselves with 'too much' stuff...that old couch, unused treadmill, or barely-worn shoes. However, we often find ourselves with not enough time or energy to sell, recycle, or reuse what we have. The inspiration behind Selli was to make the solution to this problem mechanically easy, while reducing the mental burden
What it does
Selli is an AI-powered tool that allows anyone the sell something by circling it using their hands. Using custom logic, Selli estimates the item's name, price, condition, description, and can also generate a 3D model of this item -- all from a single image capture.
Publish your listing to a variety of platforms like Facebook Marketplace and Etsy. Receive device notifications when your posting is live or when it has sold. No need to always be in a headset to get status updates.
Selli also helps understand how potential purchases fit into your space -- no prior room setup needed. View a gallery of secondhand products, and expand listings to read descriptions or save them for later. Reserve these items and receive payment & pickup notifications when your item is ready.
How we built it
Selli was built using Unity, C#, and lots of love. At its core, Selli is meant to help others, and its AI logic systems were devised to create fair and accurate pricing to avoid situations of overpaying or undervaluing second-hand goods.
MistralAI was used to power the goods-to-market determination logic, while MeshyAI was used to power the single-image-to-object process. Nvidia's Grounding Dino AI model was used for obtaining spatial object bounding boxes.
What's next for Selli
I hope that this is just the beginning for Selli. I hope that one day Selli will truly accompany a person as they list, search, or purchase goods on the second-hand market
