  When you are super close, all the eyes will light up

Nature. Currently the bleakness of the weather inspires fantastical imagination.

There is a beautiful but creepy painting. As you approach it, 'eyes' start lighting up, which multiply as you come closer to the painting.

We built this with two components. One is a wooden frame (constructed by us), on which the painting has been done. Holes have been drilled in the frame. The second component is the 'eyes'. this was achieved using an Arduino, as well as Dot Stars LEDs. We programmed it with a distance sensor (original code) to detect distance, and light up the eyes accordingly. The closer you get, the more eyes light up.

Integrating the eyes into the frame. there were few ways of doing so, which fit the imagery.

The entire piece! It detects distance well. The painting itself is very pretty.

We have definitely learnt how to time ourselves when designing such a piece. With a team of three people, the work was definitely cut for us, and it was up to us to make sure that we completed our tasks on time.

Installing this somewhere on Georgia Tech's campus!
