The number of applications in all fields, both academic and professional, is overwhelming and continues to grow. Finding the perfect applicant in a stack of resumes is a time-consuming and costly process. Streamlining the resume review process would impact interviewers in all fields where there are application processes with a large number of applicants such as undergraduate programs or prestigious companies.
Currently, ATS is commonly used as a way to handle a large number of applicants. Although effective at reducing the size of the pool, this can often eliminate desirable candidates. Pre-screening tests or games are also commonly used to narrow down a pool. Similar to ATS, these tests can prematurely eliminate qualified candidates.
Our proposed solution, Grad-GPT, is a Chat-GPT plug-in that can answer conversational questions about a resume pool and return resumes that meet criteria. This allows for flexible criteria to create a smaller pool of diverse candidates.
