According to National Zero Waste council’s research “2.2 billion tonnes of edible food is wasted and cost Canadians in excess of $17 billion.” No matter during COVID-19, before or after the pandemic, food waste is still happening globally. While more than 820 million people are starving in the world, it is estimated that 72 billion pounds of food is wasted each year, not including food waste at home. Our app is mainly focused on food waste in grocery stores as there are tons of expired inventory that will be sold to salvage stores or donate to food banks. However, not everyone could be on the food banks list or could be able to find a store that sells expired and cheap food. Nevertheless, with today's advanced technology, we, Yixuan, Kevin, Alan, Brandon, and Vy, decided to create an app where anyone can search for wasted, but edible food with a cheaper price nearby where they live. Kevin and Alan designed the app with map function using Adobe XD and Java. Yixuan came up with the idea and carefully collected those reliable Information and data. Lastly, Vy and Brandon animated the elevator pitch. The way the app works is that there is a map that shows nearby grocery stores. On the map, it will have data of the waste food of the store and its information. Once you click on the store you want, it will show you the location, directions, phone number and address. Along with that there will be shown all the food that you can purchase that is nearly expired, or expired
