SatherWalks was created as a way for bears to get home safely, even at night and without any existing routes or friends to walk home with. After a user inputs their desired destination and time for departure, the app aggregates all the users who are leaving at the same time and headed in the same direction in order to create walking groups. Users meet up with their walking groups and reach a destination equidistant from everyone, where they have the option of departing their group. Users can then rate their experience, which the app uses to improve safety in the future.
Our biggest challenges included trying to finish everything up in time. We were not able to link most of our app's pages together and a lot of our database was not built, but we are confident in the app's mission and our ability to complete it given more time.
