Inspiration
Warehouse facilities rely on static security cameras that create blind spots and require extensive installation to cover large spaces. These systems are not able to adapt to moving threats or monitor blind spots in environments.
Our team was able to rethink warehouse security systems by introducing autonomy and artificial intelligence into surveillance systems. With the use of autonomous drones with AI motion detection with Gemini, we are able to transform traditional security into a responsive and adaptive monitoring solution.
What it does
SAR Dynamics is an autonomous drone security system designed for warehouse facilities.
The drone patrols warehouse spaces using autonomous navigation and AI motion detection to identify anomalies. Movement is detected, and the drone can track the suspicious person or object in real time and provide live footage to security teams.
This creates a dynamic security system that eliminates blind spots and allows facilities to monitor large areas efficiently.
How we built it
We developed our solution by combining drone hardware with software systems for autonomous navigation and motion detection.
Our system includes:
- a lightweight drone platform for autonomous flight
- computer vision made with Gemini for motion detection
- real-time surveillance tracking capabilities
These technologies allow the drone to detect movement and actively monitor areas of interest in a warehouse environment.
Challenges we ran into
A challenge we ran into was designing a system that could operate reliably in indoor warehouse environments where GPS signals are limited.
Also, integrating motion detection with drone navigation requires a systems that allows for wifi connection between the AI detection system and the drone's flight control.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully developed a concept that demonstrates how autonomous drones can be used for warehouse security.
Our systems shows how a drone can detect movement in real time and respond dynamically using computer vision built with Gemini in a React front-end visual.
This is a low-cost and scalable concept that can improve warehouse monitoring and security,
What we learned
In this project, we learned the vast capabilities of incorporating robotics and artificial intelligence in solving real-world problems.
We also gained valuable experience working in autonomous systems, integrating hardware and software components, and rapidly improving ideas in a fast-paced environment.
What's next for SAR Dynamics - Aerohacks
Moving forward, we plan to extend this system by improving AI detection accuracy and enabling multiple drones to coordinate and patrol large facilities together.
Future scope includes integrating with warehouse security systems and providing automated alerts to security teams.
Our vision for the long term is to expand our autonomous aerial security network to protect large industrial environments efficiently and affordably.
