Inspiration
I was playing Santorini with my younger sister and we realized we had been playing it wrong. We still had a lot of fun but I thought it would be cool to have a program manage the rules so that we wouldn't have to be concerned with messing up the rules.
What it does
Creates an interface for two players to play Santorini and displays all legal moves and when a player has won or lost, managing all of the rules and actions.
How we built it
Using Java on replit.com
Challenges we ran into
Lots of difficult logic with the custom Unicode interface and making sure that information was displayed right.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating a working interface that allows two players to easily understand their options through a streamlined interface.
What we learned
I learned how to use try and catch in order to manage out of bounds errors while iterating through loops to print information.
What's next for Santorini
Development of a history display and the addition of heros and a bot that one person can play against.
