The safest route from Linderman Library to Taylor Gym

Inspiration

Our inspiration is from the people who walk home wanting to feel safe. Many people have to walk in potentially dangerous areas and could benefit from finding the safest walk home.

What it does

Finds the safest route from two locations based on data points

How we built it

We built it with AWS Location, AWS Routes, Google Maps, along with Next.js and Flask

Challenges we ran into

Finding the safest route among other routes was a challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a working demo as a proof of concept for SafeWalk.

I worked on the back-end and front-end to ensure they could communicate successfully. I also worked on the code that generates the map and draws the safest route.

Everybody needs a robot friend
I worked on both front-end and back-end. On the front-end I focused on designing and implementing the layout and functionalities. I implemented all http requests to the backend. On the backend I helped implement most of the route request functions. Contributing my knowledge of flask immensely.
