Inspiration:
Locker thefts are a common problem, yet traditional locks fail to provide robust protection or real-time monitoring. We wanted to build something smarter—something that goes beyond a simple lock, giving students and admins peace of mind and true control.
What We Built:
SafeSys is a smart anti-theft solution for lockers, combining hardware and software to deliver a security system that alerts users in real-time if their locker is accessed. Our system is powered by Arduino and MUX switches for precision circuit management, and it integrates seamlessly with a mobile app for user notifications and reporting suspicious activity.
Challenges We Overcame:
From designing circuits and verifying truth tables to building a robust admin server and integrating cross-platform mobile functionality, each step was a learning experience. Setting up communication between hardware, server, and mobile presented unique challenges, but our team collaborated to bring everything together.
What We Learned:
Creating a user-friendly, secure locker system is a complex but rewarding challenge. We learned the intricacies of circuit design, the importance of UI in mobile apps, and how vital real-time monitoring is for users.
