Inspiration :

The daily dangers or uncomfortable situations that marginalized communities face inspired us to create this remote danger assistance website.

What it does :

Allows user to be discreet while contacting loved ones and alerting them of the situation that they are in. Built in safety features are available for users. A chatbot is available for guided meditation. Also helps the user exit uncomfortable situations by sending an "emergency" message. Will record audio without drawing attention to collect evidence. Useful hotlines are also shared with the user for specialized help.

How we built it :

We made a Wix website and incorporated Twilio API

Challenges we ran into :

We started working on creating a website from scratch without knowledge in HTML and JavaScript and ran into issues connecting the backend code with the front end. A major issue we ran into is the fact that many of the features we thought of incorporating were not possible due to the time constraints.

Accomplishments that we're proud of :

We truly believe that this would be a useful app in our lives as women living on a college campus.

What we learned :

As first timers and freshmen, we had our first experience working on a project together. We learned that communicating and setting a clear plan is very important. On the technical side, we learned about APIs while also learning new languages.

What's next for lighthouse :

there are features not currently possible like discretely ordering an Uber or sending google maps live location; however, we are learning more about coding and wish to attempt them with more time and experience.
