Rupiya.app helps Indian farmers boost income with smart crop monitoring, soil reports, eco-farming rewards, insurance, loans, and a marketplace for safe products using modern digital tools.

What it does

Rupiya.app — a digital platform made for Indian farmers to help them farm better and earn more.With Rupiya, farmers get easy-to-understand soil reports using satellite data and smart crop monitoring. They can buy safe, residue-free farming products in our online marketplace. We also help farmers protect their crops with weather-based insurance and quick farm loans.One special feature is the carbon credit calculator — farmers can earn money by following eco-friendly farming practices.The app is simple to use, with clear visuals and advice to guide farmers step-by-step. It also supports groups like Farmer Producer Organizations, buyers, and investors with custom tools.Built with the latest tech, Rupiya makes farming smart, safe, and profitable.

How we built it

We built Rupiya using React.js and Vite for a fast, responsive frontend powered by Tailwind CSS and Radix UI for accessibility and modern UI components. Our backend APIs are designed with Node.js and Express to support scalable farmer data, marketplace transactions, and AI-driven advisory services. Integrations with satellite data APIs enable real-time soil and crop monitoring reports, while AI models generate personalized farming recommendations.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating complex satellite data and converting it into understandable insights for farmers was challenging due to data volume and technicality.Balancing a minimal and farmer-friendly UI while incorporating diverse features required careful design iteration.Ensuring seamless integration between different modules like marketplace, finance, and carbon credits under a unified user experience.Limited timeline and resource constraints pushed us to prioritize core features over advanced implementations.
