Runex is a mobile fitness tracking application built in 2021 using Flutter and Dart, leveraging Google Maps API for real-time GPS routing and Firebase on Google Cloud for backend data management.

The application enables users to track walking, running, and cycling activities while collecting performance metrics such as distance, duration, average speed, and elevation. Routes are visualized and customized using Google Maps, allowing users to explore optimized paths and discover practical points of interest such as water fountains, bike repair stations, and scenic locations.

Runex stores user activity data in Firebase (Google Cloud Firestore and Authentication), enabling real-time access, scalability, and secure user management. The project required integrating geolocation services, handling live GPS data, and synchronizing cloud-hosted data with a mobile frontend.

This project provided hands-on experience designing and building a location-based mobile application using Google technologies, with a focus on performance, usability, and cloud-backed scalability.

Runex was developed as part of an academic project, providing early hands-on experience with Google Maps API, Firebase on Google Cloud, and mobile geolocation systems.
