Inspiration

My family loves cars and has a long history of being into cars. We love racing games and decided to make one.

What it does

It is a Windows video game. You control the car with WASD. The transparent green walls are checkpoints. After you collect 2, you have completed a lap of the track. The button on the top right removes or intensifies the Super Eurobeat soundtrack.

How I built it

I used Unity3D and coded in C# to create this demo.

Challenges I ran into

Staying awake, solving problems on no sleep, rushing to meet the deadline.

My brother went from 0 Unity experience to generating all the levels while I focused on the programming. I have only used Unity for a few months, but nothing as involved as this.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

My brother learning how to build levels in Unity. Me learning how to work with wheel colliders and vehicle physics on a basic level.

What I learned

That it's definitely possible to chug out something playable in 24 hours. Also, all-nighters are not as bad as you may think.

What's next for Rowdy Racing

Better physics, more tracks, more cars, more settings/options, optimization, etc
