Inspiration

Our project was inspired due to the weekly pain of reviewing lecture slides and additional documents per module. Scurrying through 40 lecture notes, which 1/2 contain information not immediately important. Having to resist the urge to sleep in several instances while studying these notes, as a team, it was unanimously decided to tackle the task of creating an innovative solution to this problem.

What it does

The web application is designed to register users (specifically those who attend UTECH) and provide a method to summarize documents, which can be uploaded. Once the document is summarized, the application is to automatically generate a set of questions in a quiz style to the user. It was also desired to create mini games for users to engage with their lecture notes in a fun way.

How we built it

Web application was developed using JS, HTML, CSS as the main tools. Working along with OpenAI and v0.dev, we created the user interface for the web application. APIs were the crucial tools in completing the task as they were required to check the student email to see if the email entered was valid, used to link an AI chatbot to summarize document information, and to also generate the quiz questions per the documents.

Challenges we ran into

Because of unfamiliarity with the use of API's and going further the way of incorporating the different languages, the main functionality of the website was not able to have been completed.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of our UI that was developed successfully and the fact that each and every one of us held out and tried our best up to the end of the competition to get the main functionalities to work.

What we learned

We learned about the use of API's in development, as a starting course, I believe this will push us even further into developing our skills to resolve complicated problems with real time solutions.

What's next for Team29_FuriousFive

The FuriousFive will be branching out into the world to learn and gain even more experience with applying real-time solutions to real world problems.
