Inspiration

While Tommie Shelf is a important and vital resource, 70% of food-insecure students never visit in person due to time constraints, transportation gaps, or social stigma.

What it does

Routes for Good is a minimalist delivery platform that bridges the "last mile" of food security. Students order essential items privately, and drivers deliver them directly to dorms or campus locations.

How we built it

We built the Routes for Good website with Lovable. The application is powered by Supabase which uses PostgreSQL and Auth to manage student accounts.

Challenges we ran into

Finding the practical solution for the problem was difficult. We went through many ideas and iterations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A minimal functional website was a huge accomplishment for us, given the short amount of time. We had a lot of fun building it!

What we learned

How to build fast-websites with Lovebale, how to efficiently collaborate in a team, and how

What's next for Routes For Good

Scaling the driver network, integrating real-time notifications, make it easier for students to sign up, centralize all the Tommie Shelf information, researching a possible point based system to incentivize student deliveries in case St Thomas cannot provide a cash reimbursement.
