Inspiration 🧠

We were inspired by the challenges of modern learning, particularly for Gen Z, who often struggle with short attention spans and information overload. Traditional learning methods can feel outdated and ineffective in today’s fast-paced, visually-driven world. We wanted to create a solution that leverages the same engaging content that often distracts users—like gameplay footage—and turn it into a tool for active, effective learning.

What it does 📖

Rotify transforms traditional learning materials into dynamic, multi-sensory experiences. Users can input text-based content—via prompts, URLs, or document uploads—and Rotify’s AI generates concise summaries, which are paired with captivating gameplay footage to create engaging learning videos. The platform also includes an AI chatbot for deeper insights and AI-generated quizzes to test knowledge. Users can save, favorite, and revisit videos, ensuring a personalized and interactive learning journey.

How we built it 🔨

Rotify was built using a combination of modern web development frameworks and AI technologies. The frontend is designed for an intuitive user experience, while the backend integrates the OpenAI API for content summarization and caption generation. We customized the AI to ensure summaries are concise and relevant. The chatbot and quiz features were developed using additional AI models, and the platform is hosted on scalable cloud infrastructure to handle growing user demands.

Challenges we ran into 💯

Rotify was built using Next.js for the frontend, ensuring a fast, responsive, and intuitive user experience, and Node.js for the backend to handle server-side logic and API integrations. We used Tailwind CSS to create a sleek, modern design that’s both visually appealing and user-friendly. For AI capabilities, we integrated the OpenAI API to power content summarization, caption generation, and the chatbot feature. The AI was customized to deliver concise, relevant summaries tailored to user inputs. Additionally, we developed AI-generated quizzes to reinforce learning.

  • More Voice Options: Train your own AI voice model to personalize the narration, or choose from a variety of voices for a customized experience.
  • Database Implementation: Save your favorite “brain-rot” videos and build a personalized learning library to revisit anytime.
  • More Video Generation: Instead of just one video per topic, generate multiple variations to explore different angles and explanations.
