Many students at UBC are commuters, close to 60% of them in fact. This means that those students do not have their own room on campus, and have to rely on campus spaces to study, rest, and work in-between classes. This is where the idea for RoomRaiders came in. Not all classrooms are in use at all times during the day, so we came up with a website to track which rooms are not in use and can be used by students. Utilizing a web scraping to gain the class times from Workday, we have compiled a database of information to update students with information on which classrooms are available to use at what times.
