Inspiration
We wanted to make a portal that helped students find opportunities to become more research oriented and involved
What it does
Teachers can create their profile and can also make opportunities available. They can browse the different opportunities created (and ideally, can look at the different students that 'hearted' the opportunity)
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, JS (Front end), AJAX, PHP (Middle end), and MySQL (Back end)
Challenges we ran into
Not finishing lol. We were close though, we'd say. We weren't well coordinated when it came to figuring out how to divide responsibilities, and that really affected us towards the later stages.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Staying awake for 24+ hours straight. We created a project from scratch in 24 hours, and that was exciting to be a part of and witness.
What we learned
We learned that we need to have better team communication from start to end. Actually before starting itself!
What's next for ResPort
We hope to finish the project, and hopefully bring awareness to it for NJIT's students!
