-
Our mascot, Divi, named after the Latin word for recycling, redivivus.
-
Our matching/memory card game is both educational and challenging, with visual cues to hint at the correct match for young children.
-
Facial cues presented in our memory card game, showing gradual hints that reveal correct answers when hovering over the right card.
Inspiration:
Human Brainstorm, a site hosting small interactive games to improve human motor skills and reflexes.
What it does:
Our website hosts three starting games: memory cards to match consumables with their durable counterparts, point and click recipes to show how everyday materials can be combined to create something new, and a collect and run game to reward kids for taking the time to recycle plastic waste.
How I built it:
Our website and demo was entirely built using Figma.\ See our demo embedded in our presentation slides.
Challenges I ran into:
Finding out how to design the games to be both easy for children to understand and challenging enough to keep their attention.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of:
Designing the interactive games while creating a fun website with our fun mascot, Divi!
What I learned:
Responsible consumption is an easy resource to access, but only for those who care about the topic. Learning at a young age creates a generation that will shape a beautiful future.
What's next for Responsible Consumption and Production: New, more challenging games in each theme! For example, the "Reduce" theme can have a quiz-type game with challenging questions, such as "Which are alternatives for plastic straws?" These games are geared towards older young audience to capture their attention and offer more lessons for responsible consumption.
