Inspiration

Remedi was founded based on our shared encounters how confusing healthcare, especially discharge procedures, can be. Andrew nearly experienced a dry socket because of unclear instructions after wisdom teeth removal and Jeff's parents struggled a lot after a surgery due to language barriers, making us realize the gaping need for a solution.

What it does

Remedi, available for both iOS and Android, revolutionizes post-operative care by leveraging AI and human psychology. Upon logging in, patients can view a concise summary of their past procedures. Each procedure outlines actionable items, such as medication reminders and physical therapy exercises, and also provides an appointment schedule. Beyond this, an FAQ section tailored to each procedure offers added clarity. We seamlessly convert intricate discharge documents into intuitive and actionable push notifications sent directly to a patient's phone. This approach not only ensures heightened medication adherence and patient compliance but also liberates medical staff to prioritize hands-on care.

How we built it

Dart, Flutter, Firebase, Google Auth, Java, Python

Challenges we ran into

Google auth Getting data from database Null errors Getting sign in to work Designing Couldn’t connect python script with document scanning Data was hard

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Create log in Intuitive UI Display data well Send push notifications!!

What we learned

The journey of Remedi underscored the pivotal role of patient experience in healthcare. We learned the importance of linguistic inclusivity, the intricacies of medical documentation, and the transformative power of combining software with genuine human needs. Additionally, the endeavor of creating a comprehensive mobile application taught us about user expectations and the importance of seamless integration across platforms.

What's next for Remedi

We aim to expand our linguistic capabilities, ensuring even broader inclusivity. We also want to refine OCR capabilities. We would like to be able to integrate with major healthcare providers across all EMR systems. Hopefully in the future, we will utilize advanced AI models to cater to diverse medical scenarios and specialties. All in all we would like to promote inclusivity and diversity with a confusing field of medicine.
