💡 Inspiration

The inspiration for Rejecto came from a deeply personal place. As someone who has struggled with the fear of rejection, I found myself only pursuing opportunities where I was nearly certain of success. This limiting mindset prevented me from growing, both personally and professionally.

The turning point came when I read the 'Million Dollar Weekend' book, which challenged me to intentionally get rejected by asking for a 10% discount at a coffee shop. The exhilaration I felt after completing that challenge was transformative — it felt like a good workout for my confidence. However, I realized that there weren’t any tools available to help people like me desensitize themselves to rejection while maintaining accountability and motivation. This inspired me to build Rejecto.

🚀 What is Rejecto

Rejecto is an app designed to help users conquer their fear of rejection through a series of over 100 unique challenges. These challenges vary in difficulty, ranging from simple tasks like asking for a compliment to more daring actions like requesting access to a private event. The app categorizes challenges into Easy, Medium, and Hard levels, allowing users to build their confidence gradually. Rejecto also includes features such as progress tracking, personal reflection, and tips and tricks to empower users with the right mindset. The app offers a free version with access to a selection of challenges from each difficulty level, while the Pro subscription unlocks the full range of challenges.

🤯 Challenges I ran into

Developing Rejecto while working full-time was challenging. Over time, productivity dropped, and putting in more hours led to diminishing returns. I had to be very intentional about setting boundaries and ensuring I had time to recharge. It's a marathon, not a sprint!

🏆 Accomplishments

  • 500+ downloads on Play Store
  • Became the top post of all time in the FlutterFlow subreddit in less than 24 hours
  • Received highly positive feedback from fellow Redditors regarding both the idea and design

📚 Lessons learned

  • The best way to get feedback is to give users the app and a task, then observe without explaining—just listen and note everything they say
  • Not to jump in and work on every idea immediately, but to note it down first and let your subconscious work on it for a while.
  • App development is only 50% building the app. The other half is spent on countless other tasks like copywriting, research, user testing, app store management, analytics, and more.

🌟 What's next for Rejecto

The journey for Rejecto is just beginning. The next steps include adding new features based on user feedback, such as:

  • A ranking system so users would know how they compare against other users
  • The ability to invite friends and see what challenges your friends have done
  • Ability to challenge a friend to do a challenge

I’m committed to continuously improving Rejecto to make it the best it can be and ensuring it becomes a valuable tool for anyone looking to overcome their fear of rejection.uring it becomes a valuable tool for anyone looking to overcome their fear of rejection.
