Inspiration

1 in 10 patients in India dies on the way to hospital? This occurs simply because motorists are clueless about what to do when they see an ambulance on the road. Due to the high amounts of traffic in India, we made this app in the hopes of making ambulances travel faster to and from the hospital and also to make ambulances more accessible to patients and vice versa. We believe that people do care about helping those who are injured, they just don’t know how.

What it does

The app notifies people nearby when an ambulance is coming through and also allows a patient to track their ambulance. Using google maps and location API, we can find the user’s location. By trigonometry, we can find the distance between two coordinates, and if this distance is less than 150m to the nearest ambulance, we display a notification playing a sound informing the user. The user can then move to the side of the road to let the nearby ambulance pass. This function can also tell the user This function can also tell the user how close their ambulance is.

How we built it

We used Android studio to make the map.

Challenges we ran into

debugging, late nights and time trouble

Accomplishments that we're proud of

firebase pushing and pulling data. Notification in a certain area

What we learned

learned complex java

What's next for RedX

Text to speech conversions dn more graphical map to display.
