We have created a website to help students save money while shopping. It works by relying on users to post local deals for others in the community to see and interact with.

Inspiration

Our team's inspiration was through personal experiences of our friend group from high school sharing deals they saw at local stores that were just too good to pass up.

What it does

Our application allows users to upload local deals for your community to see and use where users are able to find deals close to their location.

How we built it

We utilized ReactJS with NextJS and TailwindCSS to create a react web-app along with Firebase to store account and user information and used Google APIs to create a seamless location integration with our application.

Challenges we ran into

It was challenging to integrate multiple different technologies like utilizing a database with restful protocols, using Google's Cloud Software and their APIs and creating a react-web app as new developers.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of having a live website with using Google Map APIs on the site.

What we learned

We learned about React and Javascript environments, NextJS and Tailwind CSS, Google Web APIs, Firebase Database Management, and Git Version Control.

What's next for redbull win con

We had a really fun experience and plan to compete in future hackathons. Furthermore, after learning so much we are confident we can finish the product and actually ship it for public use.
