Inspiration
The AI concepts workshop and personal problems that we encountered.
What it does
It categorizes items into different categories based on different material and the ability to recycle it. There are currently four categories: Paper, Plastics/Cans, Glass, Electronics.
How we built it
We used Teachable Machine (learned via the AI concepts workshop) for AI training, and then we modified/added some of our own code in order to categorize the different items.
Challenges we ran into
The AI often miscategorized items, so we had to personally add more data and find more sources to make it more accurate.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It successfully sorts different items.
What we learned
We learned one way how to train AI.
What's next for Recyclable Tracker
It can be implemented into a machine that automatically sorts the type of item into categories based on renewable and nonrenewable materials.
