Inspiration
Going into the business and finance tract, our team was interested in dealing with real estate because our members originated from the Bay Area.
What it does
To keep our objective simple, we decided to work on an AI assistant that could provide input on the best rental and leasing advice, given input from the user's budget.
How we built it
Our website is made with a node.js runtime, using express.js as our main backend framework and using Webflow and Figma to design the frontend of the website. We plan to use Google Gemini as a way of determining
Challenges we ran into
Being our first hackathon as first-year Computer Science & Engineering majors here at UC Merced, we found it difficult to overcome the challenges of what our product's focus was going to be and our literacy in the languages and frameworks we were working in. Despite these challenges, we found it valuable to learn more about project management, skill building, and teamwork throughout our progress with this project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
What we learned
Overall, we have learned about how to work in node.js, express.js, git and GitHub, webflow, figma, HTML, CSS, and Javascript given our novice experience. We often had to learn about the subject whilst teaching each other the concepts towards building the project, allowing us to engage in cooperation.
What's next for Real Estate Agent
Being our first hackathon, a lot of the progress will first have to be made through learning more about web development to get a better scope at how we can move forward. We hope that in the future, we can give our product more of a use and incorporate elements that could allow it to act more unique.
