Inspiration
When I was younger, reading was hard for me. Some words stuck, but most slipped away. I often felt like I wasn’t improving, which was frustrating. That’s why I built Readly AI — a tool designed for learners who want to see and feel their progress, step by step.
What it does
Readly AI helps people not only read but also grow as readers. It tracks:
✨ Words you collect while reading
✨ Sessions you finish
✨ Daily streaks to keep motivation alive
But it goes beyond gamification — Readly helps you understand text better by enabling questions, offering explanations, and encouraging deeper learning.
How we built it
We combined:
AI-powered text analysis to identify and track new words.
Gamification features (streaks, milestones, and achievements).
A simple, user-friendly interface that makes progress feel rewarding.
Challenges we ran into
Designing a system that feels motivational without being overwhelming.
Making sure progress tracking is meaningful and not just numbers.
Balancing AI explanations so they are simple enough for beginners but still helpful for advanced learners.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building a tool that reflects a real learner’s struggles and provides a practical solution.
Creating a clean experience that makes readers want to keep going.
Seeing the system actually encourage growth and retention.
What we learned
Motivation is just as important as comprehension in reading apps.
Learners thrive when they can see their progress in small steps.
Simplicity in design often works better than overloading users with features.
What’s next for Readly AI
Adding collaborative features, like group reading challenges.
Integrating with e-books and online articles for seamless practice.
Personalized recommendations for words and readings based on user progress.
Expanding support for multiple languages to help global learners.
