Inspiration

Many students lose interest in studying because it feels boring and repetitive. I wanted to make learning fun by turning it into a game. That’s how QuizQuest was born — a quiz app that rewards learning.

What it does

QuizQuest lets students answer quiz questions, earn points, and unlock badges as they progress. The more they learn, the more rewards they collect. This gamification keeps students motivated and makes studying enjoyable.

How we built it

I built QuizQuest as a simple web app using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with TailwindCSS for styling. The quiz logic awards points for correct answers and unlocks badges when milestones are reached. The layout is clean, mobile-friendly, and easy for students to use.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was making the quiz system interactive and fun while keeping the code simple. I also had to balance between functionality and time, since hackathon deadlines are tight.

Accomplishments that I’m proud of

I’m proud that I was able to create a working gamified learning tool in a short time. Even though it’s simple, it demonstrates how fun and engaging education can be with gamification.

What we learned

I learned how to use gamification principles (points, badges, rewards) to motivate students, and I improved my skills in building web apps quickly.

What’s next for QuizQuest

In the future, I want to add:

  • A leaderboard for friendly competition.
  • More question banks by subject.
  • User accounts to track progress across devices.
