Inspiration

This project is inspired by long wait times in emergency rooms

What it does

QuickER is a smart triage and patient navigation platform that eliminates the ER waiting room by moving it to the patients home. Unlike standard booking sites, QuickER uses a weighted symptom scoring engine to instantly prioritize patients based on medical urgency. Once checked in, patients receive a email that provides live-updating ETA and a one tap navigation link from the patients address to the hospital. They will then receive email reminders about their appointment and suggested departure time from their home.

How we built it

We used TypeScript, JavaScript and Firebase to develop our front and backend. We also used POST API's to link them.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into challenges with our input form and how we wanted to implement it. We tried different API's but decided to just go with our own form that sends information straight to firebase.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of making a working project to showcase during judging. We're also very proud of creating a clean UI that allows easy transfer of data.

What we learned

We got a chance to experiment with lots of different API's and try to integrate them into our project. We also learned how to link our front and backend.

What's next for QuickER

Next steps for QuickER include using Presage to check patient vitals as they check in. We also would like to add a feature where nurses can update patient status and remove them from the queue if they have been seen.
