Inspiration
Water.
What it does
An arcade-style game, where you have to put out the fires that spawn on a house. These fires come in waves and progressively get harder.
How we built it
We built it using pygame.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge we ran into was the start; water, being such a broad theme, made it hard for us to actually come up with a project idea. Once we started, however, we were on a roll and made smooth progress.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The biggest accomplishment that we're proud of is having a finished product in time. We had a very rough start and didn't actually begin making the game until 4, giving us 3ish hours to finish the whole thing.
What we learned
A crucial thing that we learned was not to overcomplicate certain things when we haven't even finished the simpler, more important, things.
What's next for QuHacks_Hose Hysterics
We would love to do actual animations for the player and fire models, add a leaderboard, and better design the main menu screen. If given more time, we would also polish up a few things for optimization, but wouldn't go too far as we wanted to keep this as a simple arcade game.
